The office of College and Career Readiness has many wonderful things to offer. Throughout the school year, colleges, universities, trade schools, military branches, and apprenticeship programs come to Shadow Ridge to meet with students.

Shadow Ridge High School is proud to offer a variety of Career and Technical programs. CTE classes provide students with opportunities to explore the many career options available to them after high school graduation. Programs include high-tech training with industry's newest equipment, college credit for all qualifying programs, industry certification, and job shadowing and internships.

Volunteer and Community Service Opportunities

Many colleges, scholarships, and financial aid programs are looking for students who have plenty of volunteer hours. Competition for college and aid can be tough. Volunteering can put you at the head of the pack when it comes to college applications. Community service scholarships are also available, and if you volunteer often, you should keep that in mind when you are doing a scholarship search. Read this article on the benefits of volunteerism.

Any graduating CCSD student can order their transcripts and have them delivered electronically to a multitude of post-secondary vocational schools, colleges, and universities.

Promise Scholarship
​
The Nevada Promise Scholarship is a unique scholarship established by the Nevada Legislature for Nevada high school graduates to attend community college. As a last-dollar scholarship, the Nevada Promise Scholarship can cover up to three years of tuition and other mandatory fees not covered by other gift aid.
If you are part of the graduating class of 2021, make sure to apply during the application period (August through October), and keep current on the ongoing application steps.

Herff Jones
Herff Jones is hosting special graduation catalog pick-up events at their Las Vegas location for Shadow Ridge students and parents. Students and parents who pick up a graduation catalog will receive a free lanyard and a free parent t-shirt.
